The FloralWIKI opens
Even if only I ever update it, WIKIs run by the MediaWiki engine are an easier way to update general content. So FloralImages now has a WIKI for the background information. It would be great if a few others started contributing.
As a start I have put 'my' index of species epithets there, linked from the words in the main site next to the flower pictures. I have always been fascinated to know about the botanical Latin names and have scanned, corrected and updated (particularly geographically) an old out of copyright book for this.
The Genus names at the moment open a "page not started yet" page - a carrot for others !
And I have made a start on backgrounds for the families. (About 5 done so far). Where these exist the main site provides a link.
I need to add information to these pages about the seismic shifts around the corner from DNA research.
eg see Liliaceae.
