I thought maybe Exidia but growing in grass - no sign of rotting wood.

As noticed, this is not on wood so is not Exidia, in fact it is probably not even fungal but may instead be a species of Nostoc (Powdre see in Wales) which is a cyanobacteria which swells up after a spell of rain. This would be a very pure white form though, so even cyanobacteria may be wrong. |
